Central Department of Sociology/Anthropology had received a research grant of 60 million rupees to undertake a Social Inclusion Atlas (SIA) Ethnographic Profile research project. This was a commissioned research funded by Social Inclusion Research Fund (SIRF) and managed by SNV/Nepal. The main objective of this research project was to prepare social inclusion atlas of 100+ groups and ethnographic profiles of 42 highly marginalized communities of Nepal. The duration of the research project is 16 month beginning in November 1, 2011.
In order to manage the research project efficiently and accomplish it successfully, a management committee had been formed with 5 core research team members under the leadership of Prof. Om Gurung, project coordinator. Other members were research directors, two thematic team leaders and a SIA-EP Co-Director. The research project involved 29 researchers from multidisciplinary research backgrounds; anthropology, sociology, geography, economics, linguistic, statistics, demography, socio-economic, political science, gender studies, education, and GIS (For details see the project outputs as publications)
The research project has recently been completed with the output of more than two dozens of publications. Altogether there are 29 different publications which are being distributed from the CDSA.
